Italian-American Nick Buoniconti Saddened by the NFL's lack of Caring
Nick has been going through some health concerns recently following his being diagnosed with neurodegenerative dementia and chronic encephalopathy. He voiced his concern that nobody from the NFL organization called to offer help. He is in such rough shape that he needs a full time live in nurses aid. Its a sad story which could be paralleled to the saying: "live by the sword, die by the sword" He made a great living playing football and now the football is taking its toll on him. Nick played for the Dolphins for 14 years and he will be 77 in December 2017. He is also a member of the Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame. Nick's son Marc was paralyzed and hence the Buoniconti Fund was set up as the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. The next event is the Sports Legends Dinner on September 25th.
